We spent a long time searching for the right location. It had to be far enough to escape the city’s chaos, but accessible enough for a spontaneous weekend drive. When we first stood on the banks of the gorgeous shimsha river, we knew this was it.

Mud walls have this incredible natural property-they breathe! They maintain flawless natural ventilation, keeping the rooms beautifully cool during the blistering afternoon heat and cozy when the night temperature drops near the river.

The property is basically a living, breathing farm ecosystem. We are surrounded by hundreds of towering trees. You can literally walk through blocks of coffee bushes, rubber trees, climbing black pepper vines, and heavy fruit-bearing mango and jackfruit trees. We’ve even planted sacred sandalwood and sturdy teak trees for the next generation.
